Svādhyāya – self study.  It is so easy to get wrapped up into the mental study of our life.  We are more than our body.  We are more than our mind.  We are Spirit!  When do you take time to check in with Spirit?  How do you call Spirit to witness the movements within a yoga class?  When do you have insights into a momentary experience of a candle burning, someone walking down the sidewalk, etc?

Svādhyāya is not about setting in a dark space with candles and incense, although I started my practice that way!  Now, I try to live moment to moment watching and being aware.  How did I react to the latest news release?  How is the chaos in the world impacting me now?  Where do I belong in the midst of it all?  And, by the way, I am getting older and what does that mean?  Does or did my life really have meaning?

So many questions.  Part of svādhyāya is holding awareness of the moment.  Not consciousness.  Consciousness brings the mind and it always has a lot to say about everything.  Awareness is witness consciousness.  What does that mean?  We will explore these concepts.  There won’t be a right or wrong answer so simply join us and share your thoughts on the topic!
