Many of us have heard of feng shui, and have you heard of Vastu śastra? Seva, Dana and Charity as Yoga Therapy
January 8, 2024 11:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
4 hours $64
Yes, giving and sharing you and your talents in the world as a gift is a yoga practice. They should be done as an overflow of life, rather than an obligation to tithe. Mother Theresa says, “In this life we cannot always do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” How do we enter the world of contributing from our deepest essence, with great love?
Pratipakṣa Bhāvana as a Therapy Tool
January 15, 2024 11:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
4 hours $64
Patañjali says in the Yoga Sūtra, paraphrased for today, if you have a lemon, make lemonade!
He actually wrote, from Swami Satchitananda translation, Verse 2.33, When disturbed by negative thoughts, opposite [positive] ones should be thought of. This is pratipakṣa bhāvana.” How do we use this as a life tool? This session will explore tools for empowering svādyāya as a tool for personal insights and growth.
Dṛṣti and Trāṭaka as Yoga Tools
January 22, 2024 11:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
4 hours $64
Dṛṣṭi comes from ‘dṛi’ to perceive and ‘ṣṭi ‘ to make steady. It is not just gazing. Trāṭaka is to fix the eyes on an object. When you steady the eyes, you steady the mind. There are tools to support stability in a world, for me, often a mental world of chaos, to become secure in how it perceives life. This yoga tool will be explored in this session.
