Āyurveda and Yoga are based on the same Sat Darśana and especially Saṁkhyā philosophy. This course will review the foundations of the Sat Darśana and weave the essence of Saṁkhyā, Yogāsana and Āyurveda into the interconnected fabric of Yoga. Āyurveda for Yoga Teachers begins with the study of the tri-doṣa and learn the fundamentals for yoga practices for each doṣa. Then we dive into the application. For example, comments like, “forward bends are good for vata and back bends reduce kapha”, are an inadequate and simplified statement that can actually compromise the integration of yoga and āyurveda. Deepen your understanding of the integration of yoga and āyurveda. Plus, the concepts of āyurveda can add to your own personal self care and offer in additional life style tools for yoga students.
