The body changes physically as we age.  It is not just “degeneration,” it is a shift allowing us to move from the physical confines of the body to the Spiritual transition we are preparing to make.  During these transition years, yoga can support vitality and suppleness of the body, mind, and Spirit.  Yoga becomes a tool for mobility rather than flexibility.  The impact of aging, societal effects and health issues, including medications, are important to integrate into yoga therapy for senioring.  There are also mental health issues and end-of-life  considerations that impact seniors.  Additionally, their caretakers need wellness support.

The workshop will cover the basics of the aging process.  We will discuss and explore yoga tools for specific medical conditions inherent in the aging process.  We will review end-of-life considerations and discuss yoga tools to support the caretakers. Students are required to submit a presentation exhibiting the application of tools learned.
